Above is the 2008 Paralympic gold medal-winning SKUD18 of Nick Scandone and Maureen McKinnon, which I rigged from a bare hull, fresh from the builder. Every line, every block, every system, every splice was optimized for light weight and ease of use and then repeatedly refined, particularly as Nick’s ALS progressed and he continued to weaken.
